Acts 21:37 - 22:29 Pauls Identity as a Witness to the Gospel
We are witnesses who both observe and proclaim.
Acts 1:8
Paul uses his identity as a Jew to create an avenue to proclaim his identity as a Witness
Paul Confirms his Identity as a Witness of Jesus
Like many other cases in the Gospels and Acts the healing from the blindness was the proof of the spiritual healing
Matthew 9:4-8
Paul is Given the Will, Voice and A Sight of the Righteous One
Colossians 1:13-14
1 Timothy 1:12-17
Paul Embraces the Call to Proclaim the Gospel of Jesus
Romans 9:30-10:4
I often ask why I do not proclaim Christ with this same conviction?
It is because I do not believe the Gospel that I am sharing.
Paul did not deny his identity but leveraged them for the telling of the Gospel.
Jew of Jews / Greek / Educated / Roman
All of these were used so that he would be able to Proclaim the Gospel.
Witness was his greatest Identity.
Galatians 2:20
What identities do we have that we, like Paul, can leverage for the Gospel?
Some examples could be:
-Education
-Nationality
-Economic Status
-Race
-Job Title/Position
-Heritage
-Neighborhood
-Stage of Life
Have any of these titles taken a priority over my identity as a Witness to Jesus Christ?
In my life, have I let my identity as dominate my identity as Christian.
All of these are good identities but they serve my greatest and eternal identity.
If the Bible is true then these other identities will pass away and forever we will continue to be witnesses to Jesus and his Glory and Majesty.
Revelation 4:9-14
This was Paul’s greatest identity and it is the greatest identity we have.
