Acts 14:26–28
[They returned to Antioch], where they had been commended to the grace of God for the work that they had fulfilled. And when they arrived and gathered the church together, they declared all that God had done with them, and how he had opened a door of faith to the Gentiles. And they remained no little time with the disciples.

Acts 9:15
he is a chosen instrument of mine to carry my name before the Gentiles and kings and the children of Israel.

Acts 1:8
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.

The question of building the kingdom of Christ among the Gentiles was such an important matter that the teachers of Antioch had good reason to ask God earnestly to make them equal to the task.
