  2. v7-11 - THE FATHER

  3. v12 - THE SUMMARY**

Romans 2:1
Therefore you have no excuse, O man, every one of you who judges. For in passing judgment on another you condemn yourself, because you, the judge, practice the very same things

James 4:12
There is only one lawgiver and judge, he who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you to judge your neighbor?

James 2:12–13:
So speak and so act as those who are to be judged under the law of liberty. For judgment is without mercy to one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.

Galatians 6:1–2
Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted. Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.

1 Corinthians 13:6–7
[Love] does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

Matthew 10:14
And if anyone will not receive you or listen to your words, shake off the dust from your feet when you leave that house or town.

James 4:2–3
You do not have, because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask wrongly, to spend it on your passions.

Romans 3:23–26
… for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God’s righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins. It was to show his righteousness at the present time, so that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.

Jonathan Pennington
If one has a condemning attitude toward others, this will be one’s experience of the world; if one has a welcoming and accepting attitude, this will be one’s experience.

Scot McKnight
Christians can pronounce “that is good” and “that is wrong” but not “you are condemned by God.”
