Preacher: Joel Fair

  1. Who is like God?

Isaiah 40:8
The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever.

R. C. Sproul
The thing that characterizes creaturely existence is not being, but becoming, because the chief character trait of all creatures is they change. Whatever you are today, you will be different ever so slightly tomorrow. And today, you’re that much different from what you were yesterday if it’s only that you are 24-hours older than you were at this time yesterday… If you ask me, “Is God?” I say, “Yes of course God is.” But does He exist? Not in this sense, because that would make Him what? A creature, a dependant, derived existence. But rather we say God is Being. God is being, not becoming, not changing. He is eternally the same. And so we say there’s one being.

Genesis 1:3
the Spirit of the Lord was hovering over the face of the waters.

Psalm 89:6
For who in the skies can be compared to the Lord? Who among the heavenly beings is like the Lord,

Hebrews 1:3
He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power.

1 Timothy 1:17
To the King of the ages, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.
