FOR OUR BOAST IS THIS …
THE THEOLOGICAL ARGUMENT: THE PROMISE IS YES
THE PRACTICAL ARGUMENT: IT WAS TO SPARE YOU**
The method of ministry is to be congruent with the grace of God to which our ministry bears witness.
Simplicity and godly sincerity are the means by which the minister of the gospel labors so that our boast is in the grace of God.
1 Corinthians 1:28–31
God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are, so that no human being might boast in the presence of God. And because of him you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption, so that, as it is written, “Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.”
2 Corinthians 10:17–18
Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.” For it is not the one who commends himself who is approved, but the one whom the Lord commends.
Jeremiah 9:23–24
Let not the wise man boast in his wisdom, let not the mighty man boast in his might, let not the rich man boast in his riches, but let him who boasts boast in this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the LORD who practices steadfast love, justice, and righteousness in the earth. For in these things I delight, declares the LORD.

You suspect me of acting insincerely; you accuse me of vacillation and self-interestedness; you deem me untrustworthy. As a result, I am like a man who must continually seek to establish the truth of his statements by employing what amounts to an oath.
