I. Read Eph. 2:1-3

1. According to vs. 1, what was the state of our souls outside of Christ?
2. What does this say about our ability to contribute to our salvation?
3. What were we doing while in this state? And who were we following?

II. Read Eph. 2:4-10

1. According to the first two words of verse 4, who is it that has changed our status in verse 1 “you were dead” to our status in verse 5 “made us alive”?
2. In verse 5, what was the state of our souls when God accomplished this transition from death to life?
3. What is the relationship of our works to our salvation? How does Paul describe this in verses 8-10?

III. Read Eph. 2:11-22

1. Paul talks a lot about the unity of God’s people. How does being “fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God (v.19)” impact the way you relate to fellow believers?
