The Book of Micah is arranged in three cycles of judgement and salvation. Cycles one and three are more lengthy in judgement. The middle cycle, cycle two, is more lengthy in salvation.
Sennacherib - King of Assyria - 701
As for Hezekiah, the Judean, who did not submit to my yoke, forty-six of his strongly fortified cities as well as the villages of their environs … I surrounded and conquered; 200,150 people … I brought here and counted as booty. As for him, like a bird in a cage I shut him up in Jerusalem, his royal city.
2 Kings 19:35–36 (ESV)
And that night the angel of the Lord went out and struck down 185,000 in the camp of the Assyrians. And when people arose early in the morning, behold, these were all dead bodies. Then Sennacherib king of Assyria departed and went home and lived at Nineveh.
Leviticus 25:23–24 (ESV)
The land shall not be sold in perpetuity, for the land is mine. For you are strangers and sojourners with me. And in all the country you possess, you shall allow a redemption of the land.
2 Timothy 4:3–4 (ESV)
For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.
Isaiah 2:2–3 (ESV)
It shall come to pass in the latter days
that the mountain of the house of the Lord
shall be established as the highest of the mountains,
and shall be lifted up above the hills;
and all the nations shall flow to it,
and many peoples shall come, and say:
“Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord,
to the house of the God of Jacob,
that he may teach us his ways
and that we may walk in his paths.”
For out of Zion shall go forth the law,
and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.
Hebrews 13:14 (ESV)
For here we have no lasting city, but we seek the city that is to come.
1 Corinthians 1:27–29 (ESV)
But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are, so that no human being might boast in the presence of God.
Matthew 23:23 (ESV)
Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you tithe mint and dill and cumin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faithfulness. These you ought to have done, without neglecting the others.
C. L. Feinberg
The piety that God approves consists of three elements: a strict adherence to that which is equitable in all dealings with our fellowmen; a heart determined to do them good; and diligent care to live in close and intimate fellowship with God.
