John 1:1–5
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
John 20:31
these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.
THE SON IS SENT BY THE FATHER
John 8:18
I am the one who bears witness about myself, and the Father who sent me bears witness about me.

I will be with you a little longer, and then I am going to him who sent me.

THE SON CAME TO REVEAL THE TRUTH

THE SON CAME TO DO THE WILL OF THE FATHER

THE SON CAME TO GIVE ETERNAL LIFE
John 3:16–17
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
John 5:24
Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.
THE SON CAME TO GLORIFY THE FATHER
John 12:27–28
Now is my soul troubled. And what shall I say? ‘Father, save me from this hour’? But for this purpose I have come to this hour. Father, glorify your name.
John 15:8–9
By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples. As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love.
